SUPER SHRIMP at LLANDUDNOS NEW POOL
The Supershrimp meet at Llandudno’s new swimming pool on October 4th was a great opportunity for Abergele Swimming Club’s younger swimmers to shine. Newcomer Josh Ablett brought home a Silver medal in his 25 meter freestyle and a bronze for his 25 meter backstroke, whilst Ceri Williams gained her first Gold medal in the 50 meter freestyle and a bronze in her 50 meter backstroke. There were also some great performances from Chloe Merrison, Lily Hughes, Jamie Travis, Ioan Wellsbury, Coral Booker and Gethin Jones all gaining top six finishes in their chosen events and a handful of personal best times. There were also personal best times for Lewis Ball, Eleri Hale, Jac Sherrington, Elain Jenkins and Methan Ratnakumar who all performed extremely well. Comments and details from the latest galas. String of Medals for Abergele Swimmers
ABERGELE Swimming Club came away from the Bangor Open Meet with a string of records, medals, and personal best times. Nathan Edwards-Hughes took a gold medal and broke the meet record in the 200m individual medley, gold in the 50m front crawl, silver in the 100m individual medley and silver in 200m breaststroke.
James Owen took gold medal and broke the meet record in the 200m front crawl, gold and broke and another meet record in the 400m individual medley, also knocking nine seconds off his pb. He claimed a gold medal in the 100m front crawl and a silver in the 50m front crawl. Hannah Knightly took 10 seconds off her best time in the 400m individual medley to win bronze.
Kira Davies took an amazing 23 seconds off her pb in the 200m backstroke for the silver medal and also won bronze in the 100m butterfly. She also wiped 19 seconds off 200m front crawl time and 13 seconds off in 200m individual medley. Toni Whitney won silver in the 400m front crawl and took a bronze in the 200m front crawl.
Anna Cooper took eight seconds off her 200m butterfly time for a bronze medal while Chloe Merrison swam well in her first 400m crawl and recorded pbs in the 200m crawl and 200m individual medley.
Ceri Williams performed well on her debut at 200m individual medley, and there were three pbs for Aneira Jones.
Leah Cooper won gold in the 400m medley and the 50m front crawl, silver in the 400m crawl and bronze in the 100m crawl.
There were also pbs for Dylan Coombes and George Hopkins.
